ENSEMBLE
IN THE MIDST OF LIFE

The centerpiece of the program is English Renaissance composer John Sheppard’s Media vita (In the midst of life), written during London’s most deadly influenza epidemic, which possibly took the life of Sheppard himself. Accompanying this 20-minute masterpiece is music by Arvo Pärt, Eric Whitacre’s setting of When David Heard, and John Tavener’s Song for Athene.
Singers will be unmasked. We will not be checking vaccine cards and masking for the audience is optional. While we will not require masks, we will respect your choice to continue wearing one for your own health and comfort. (Subject to change based on local public health orders).
